1

Slice the beef sirloin against the grain into thin strips. In a bowl, toss the beef with 15ml of soy sauce, 5ml of sesame oil, and the cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.

2

Mince the garlic and grate the fresh ginger.

3

Slice the cremini mushrooms. If using fresh broccoli, cut it into small florets.

4

Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until shimmering. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.

5

Add the mushrooms, garlic, ginger, and broccoli florets to the same wok. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

6

Return the beef to the wok. Add the remaining 30ml of soy sauce and 5ml of sesame oil. Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until heated through and coated with the sauce.

7

Serve immediately over steamed rice, if desired.
