One-Pan Ground Turkey and Rice Skillet

"A quick, easy, and satisfying one-pan meal featuring savory ground turkey, fluffy rice, and a rich tomato sauce. Perfect for a busy weeknight."
Ingredients
All Steps
- 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- 2
While turkey cooks, finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- 3
Add chopped onion to the skillet with the cooked turkey and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- 4
Stir in the uncooked white rice, diced tomatoes (undrained), chicken broth, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- 5
Once simmering, reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed. Avoid lifting the lid too often.
- 6
Remove from heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork.
- 7
Chop fresh parsley and sprinkle over the skillet before serving.
