  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking dish or sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

  2. 2

Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Mince the garlic and finely chop the fresh parsley and dill. Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, and chopped dill to the melted butter. Squeeze the juice from half of the lemon into the butter mixture and stir to combine.

  4. 4

Place the seasoned tilapia fillets in the prepared baking dish.

  5. 5

Pour the lemon-herb butter mixture evenly over each tilapia fillet. Slice the remaining half of the lemon into thin rounds and arrange them over and around the fish.

  6. 6

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque throughout and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary based on fillet thickness.

  7. 7

Remove from oven and serve immediately, perhaps with a side of steamed vegetables or rice.
